Farm Workshare Volunteer Program

Do you love to weed? Be out in the fresh air?

Our volunteer program is great for folks who want to do some work on a farm but don't plan on making it their occupation!

Description:

You will work a total of 60 hours per season, which comes out to five hours per week for 12 weeks, or four hours per week for 15 weeks. During the regular growing season, you are welcome to take home a CSA vegetable share, even during the weeks you are not working. The regular harvest season is usually 21 weeks long. So this gives you a little lee-way in getting in your commitment, should you be unable to come on a given week.

The field crew works Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Volunteers usually start at 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. Volunteers chose which day they would like to come. We especially need volunteers who can come Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

What to Expect:

The work is very physical and includes harvesting, weeding, planting, and other field tasks. It requires a lot of bending, on-the-knees work, and lifting. Our work has to be done on a tight schedule, which means that we work regardless of weather conditions. This means that if you are scheduled to work on a day that is raining, you need to work in the rain––we are depending on you. Wear appropriate clothing for getting dirty or wet.

Please take note:

Children under 16 are not allowed (by law) to accompany their parents during working hours.
