What Makes the Root Connection So Special?

The Root Connection isn’t just a place to pick up your weekly vegetables. Members can fully experience the farm and see how we all are connected to the soil and the gifts it gives. It is also a place for people to come together and feel like they’re part of a community. Members exchange recipes, ideas about health, nutrition, organic farming. Children learn about how vegetables grow first hand in the children’s garden.

Ways to Join the Root Connection

June - October

The Root Connection is Washington State’s first CSA farm. Since 1987, we have offered our members the best of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Members pick up their local, fresh produce at the farm or at a drop site location.

May - October

Northwest gardeners stop in to pick from our wide selection of herbs, veggie starts, and tomato plants. Our starts adjust well to home gardens since we raise them without artificial heat, growth stimulants or chemical fertilizers.

November - May

Conveniently swing in to the Farm Store to pick up your fresh certified organic produce from November to May each year. You'll save up to 30% over retail cost and enjoy the added flexibility of signing up month-to-month.

HAPPY CUSTOMER

"We love the farm! It's a very important part of our week and helps instill the right values in our children."

HAPPY CUSTOMER

“I just finished cleaning the 12 gallon bag of organic produce we get each week during the summer from the Root Connection…If you’ve never tasted really fresh produce, you’re missing out on one of life’s great treats. Furthermore, the varieties of produce are optimized for flavor, not shelf-life like virtually everything you get in the grocery store. The carrots are amazingly sweet and crisp (the kids won’t eat store-bought carrots anymore), the lettuce tastes like something more than crunchy water, and the corn (later in the season) is like nothing you’ve ever had. Plus, everything is organic, so no scary poisons for the family, the environment, or the farm workers.”

HAPPY CUSTOMER

“I’m also happy that the boys can see where food comes from. There are u-pick fields and kids gardens plus flowers and herbs for members. I don’t want the kids to be so ignorant of where food comes from…If it were just great produce, our farm share would still be a good value. It’s good for the kids, good for the land, and just makes me happy.”
